Hey Now! It's The Fox Valley Voice!
Thank you for visiting the Fox Valley Voice. The Voice will strive to be the one place where you can find out where to go and what to do in St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia, North Aurora, Aurora, and other surrounding areas. We also think we are rather funny, so expect plenty of attempts at humor in each post.
We will cover many aspects of life in the Fox Valley, including (but not limited to):
There are plenty of very long, very official sounding documents describing proper journalism guidelines. We read this one for about 14 seconds and immediately decided to just make up our own. They are:
Keep it friendly
The Voice is not interested in writing posts that unfairly trash local establishments or events. It's ok to express a negative opinion in a respectful way, however, name calling or inappropriate language is bad news around here. We hope that you keep this in mind when commenting on posts.
Keep it light
Our posts will focus on having fun in and around the Fox Valley. Therefore, we must allow our friends at the local newspapers to handle the following topics: politics, religion, death, drugs, crime, and celebrity babies.
Keep it local
The Voice prefers to highlight those establishments and events that are unique to the Fox Valley. Don't expect to see a review of the latest quadruple-decker sandwich from Chain Restaurant #372 or this weekend's sale at Very Huge Home Improvement Warehouse. They have multi-zillion dollar marketing budgets and do not need our help.
Keep it interesting
This is where you come in. If you're a citizen and have a favorite spot and would like to see a profile of it in the Voice, please let us know. If you're in a band on the verge of stardom (or not) and you're playing in the area, please let us know. If you're a business owner and would like to provide complimentary products or services for a review, please let us know.
