North Aurora Days At Mooseheart In 2009?
UPDATE: North Aurora Days 2009 Back At Clock Tower Plaza [5/8/2009]
The saga of the moveable festival continues. The Daily Herald reports that the North Aurora Days festival scheduled to take place August 1 & 2 may be held on the southeast corner of the Mooseheart property this year.
Until last year the party was held at the Clock Tower Plaza at Oak and Randall. In 2008, construction on Oak street was in full swing in August so the party moved to an area near Rt. 31 and Airport Road. Well guess what? That land is now going to be the new North Aurora police station and will be under construction. "So just go back to the Clock Tower Plaza!" you say. Nope. The festival has grown too big for that parking lot. "Hey! There is a huge parking lot over by Target and JC Penney between Randall and Orchard!" No dice. Reps from the two stores said Nuh-uh to that idea.
Organizers are looking at June 1 to set the location as they await the decision from Mooseheart. Stay tuned.
