2009 Downtown Alive! Festival Series (Aurora)
Downtown Aurora is the place to be for festival and music lovers this summer. They are doing a tremendous job bringing in some big name talent for your entertainment. And it's all FREE. Well, except for the beer and the corn dogs. You still have to pay for those.
The lineup for the 2009 Downtown Alive! Festival Series is truly exceptional. In years past, the festival took place on Friday nights only and mostly featured local and regional acts. This year they've chosen to expand each weekend to two nights (both Friday and Saturday) and they've landed some quality national talent.
Blues On The Fox
Featuring top-level blues artists from Chicago, the United Kingdom, New Orleans, Mississippi, New York, Oklahoma, and, most notably, Los Angeles' Los Lobos!
Downtown Alive welcomes two alternative rock headliners who first rose to prominence in the mid-1990's
Classic Rock lives and breathes in Aurora this summer as rock legends Foghat and Billy Squier headline this weekend
Organizers didn't want to abandon the local acts who helped build the festival over the years, so they get their own weekend

- There are a few fold-up chairs available near the stage, but don't plan on scoring one unless you are one of the first through the gates. Better to bring your own lawn chair or those folding bag chair deals.

- Speaking of Food and Beverages
- There is a delicious selection of food and beverages at the festival. Our personal favorite: the Italian sausage bigger than your arm. Adult beverages are also available, just be sure to get your wristband.
- KidZone
- An activity area featuring fun and games for the kiddies will be available on Saturday, July 11 (Summer Jam) and August 15, 2009 (Fan Favorites) from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
- Cruise Night Fridays
- See the region’s coolest antique, muscle, limited edition and one-of-a-kind custom cars and motorcycles on each Friday night of series.
- Respect Your Fellow Man (and Woman)
- Let's honor the City of Aurora and its law enforcement officers for hosting these wonderful events by gathering in a peaceful and enjoyable manner. The temperatures will be high and there will be a lot of people. Patience and graciousness to us all.
