Social Networks for Business (knowledge)
Do you use Twitter, Facebook, Meetup, or Linkedin? Do you want to see how you can integrate your site and content with these social networks?
There is a group of very friendly and outgoing computer types (unusual, to be sure) who call themselves the Fox Valley Computer Professionals and they've been hosting Meetups at various locations in the Fox Valley since 2007. Topics covered by the group, led by local tech wizard Eric Michalsen, have included search engine optimization, website analytics, and social media.
This Monday, August 10, at 7:00 pm, Eric and the gang will be presenting an evening dedicated to incorporating the popularity of social media into your business and/or website. "Social Networks for Business" will be held at 2000 S. Batavia Ave (Route 31) in Geneva, just north of the Campana building. There is a $10 admission for this event.
We've attended several of the FVCP Meetups and if you're even remotely interested in these technical topics we urge you to attend. It's an excellent forum for networking with other technical people and sharing your knowledge. Or gaining some.
Another plus: there is usually a little after-party get together at one of the local watering holes, which is another fabulous opportunity for networking (with your old pals Jim, Jack, Johnnie, Jose, Sam, Bud, Miller, etc.).
Tell 'em you heard it from The Voice!
