Pride of the Fox RiverFest 2009 (St. Charles)
There is so much going on at the 27th Annual Pride of the Fox RiverFest in St. Charles this weekend, we hardly know where to start. First, the basics: the festival takes place on Friday, June 12, Saturday, June 13, and Sunday, June 14, from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm daily.
The festivities can be broken down into their locations: Lincoln Park, Old St. Charles, Pottawatomie Park, the Riverwalk, Municipal Center, and the Harris Riverside Stage.
Lincoln Park (West Main Street between 4th and 5th Street)
This is where the majority of the kids activities will take place, including:
The Riverview Carnival will be operating at this location starting Thursday, June 11, from 1:00 pm to 10 pm, Friday and Saturday from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm, and Sunday from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.
Pottawatomie Park (North 2nd Avenue and North Avenue)
Lots of events on the river here, such as:
On Saturday and Sunday along the River Walk you will find the 23rd Annual RiverFest Fine Arts Show. Artists from across the Midwest and the country will display their newest creations in sculpture, paintings, photography and mixed media.
Municipal Center (East Main Street and 1st Avenue)
Watch as 40 tons of sand is transformed into a Fantasy Sand Sculpture throughout the weekend. Check out the sculptures from previous festivals.
Harris Riverside Stage (South 1st Avenue and Walnut Avenue)
This is the main stage for live music, including area favorites such as Hi Infidelity, Lazy Maybes, 7th Heaven, and the New Invaders Ultimate 60s Flashback Show. Other activities during the weekend include:

- Dragon Boat Races
- Canine Capers (dog tricks and frisbees throwing and such)

- Our suggestion is to print out the official RiverFest map and the schedule of events and take it with you. Laminate them if you'll be spending any time in the beer garden. ;)
- There will be a free shuttle bus in operation on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. The aforementioned RiverFest map notes the shuttle stop locations.
- Parking locations are also noted on the map, including the new parking deck on South 1st Street and Thompson Middle School at Main and 7th Street (which is also a shuttle stop)
